 Have you ever wondered why some rooms in your home are very damp or smell very musty?  Even though you get the carpet steam cleaned, the dampness and musty smell seem to go away for a month but after that month it seems to come back.  These are the first signs that you may have yourself a little mold problem.  

 It is summer time here in South Florida and the temperatures here are averaging 92 degrees plus.  The heat index alone is over 100 degrees.  So I go ahead and have the a/c running on full blast during the day and then turn it down a notch at night when it is a little cooler.  I noticed a little problem when I was walking down the hall and  the carpet felt really wet by closet where the a/c unit and the water heater is kept.  I opened up the door and i saw that there was a lot of moisture coming from the a/c unit but more importantly I noticed the walls were green and black because mold had started to reproduce and take over.

 I found many natural mold killing products on the internet but the one that stood out to me was one mold killer that not only killed the mold but also incapsulated the mold to keep it from coming back in the future.  I spoke to one of the mold specialists and they gave me a great description of how the product works. The gentleman said to picture a empty 2 litre bottle of soda.  Drop a small rose in it and then tighten the cap.  The rose was illustrating the mold.  The bottle was the mold product.  The bottle kept the rose encapsulated and kept air and moisture from getting to the rose.  This helped me understand how the mold killing product encapsulates the mold and also how it keeps the area clean from mold ever coming back.

I was sold on this product so I ordered it.  It only took 2 business days to recieve it.  As soon as I recieved the product I went to work.  I followed the directions and first lifted the carpet and dried all the effected areas as best as I could.  I then sprayed the area with the natural mold killing product and let it sit for about 20 minutes.  I scrubbed the area with a light brush that I usually use to clean my shower to lift the black mold.  I then wiped the area again and cleaned off almost all of the mold. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to clean this mold and how easy the mold just lifted off the surface once the product took effect.  I sprayed the area again just like the directions said to.  This is now the encapsulation process.  This was to prevent the mold from coming back.  I placed the carpet back into its normal position and I was finished.  The total time I would say was 1 hour max.
