How does mold infestation occur?
Much as been said about the dangers of mold contamination. Homeowners panic at the sight of mold contamination alone – and this has been considered justifiable. Mold contamination could cause a variety of health problems ranging from light skin rashes to serious respiratory irregularities like asthma. Other health problems brought about by mold contamination includes nose bleeding, headache, chronic fatigue, flu-like symptoms, hair loss and many others. When the topic of mold contamination is discussed, most people jump into the treatment stage right away forgetting to think about the other more important factors like the different ways of mold infestation. How can somebody acquire the toxic mold?
There are three most common ways which facilitate mold infestation. These are mold ingestion, skin contact and mold inhalation. We will be discussing each process one by one for your better understanding.
Mold ingestion – Mold ingestion is the process wherein you accidentally eat the mold. Some molds grow on food. Molds grow commonly on bread, oatmeal, pastries, noodles and many others. When the food is beyond the expiry date, they become a favorite place for mold accumulation. Some people get too much oblivious failing to take note of food edibility so they end up eating food contaminated with mold.
Skin contact – When people are not aware of mold contamination and they touch infected areas, mold get into their bodies through skin contact. Note that the two most mold-prone areas in our homes are the kitchen and the bathroom so you might want to keep your keen eye and sensitive senses all over these areas. Skin contact with mold could result to rashes and allergies.
Mold inhalation – Mold inhalation is perhaps the easiest way for mold to get into our bodies. Molds are light cottony materials. They could be sniffed so fast and easily. When inhaled, mold result to blockages in our
respiratory system resulting to breathing difficulties.
To keep yourself safe from mold infestation, always clean your home. Molds thrive faster in dirty and dusty air. Clean all rooms inside your house by using natural cleaners. Unlike commercial cleaning products, green mold killers have not only been proven effective but also proven to be safe and harmless not just to yourself but to the environment as well.
