Earth Hour: Tonight, There Will be a Big Turn Off

Tonight – March 28, 2009 at exactly 8:30 PM – the whole world is challenged to switch off lights for Earth Hour 2009. This worldwide activity is aimed at making the planet a greener and safer place to live in. This time; however, apart from encouraging households to use organic products at home like user-friendly carpet cleaning products, the whole world will be encouraged to turn lights off.

Even top Hollywood shows like “Dancing With The Stars” and CSI have agreed to turn off lights on the sets in support to the one-hour campaign – between 8:30-9:30. All lights on their set will be switched off except for non-essential ones.

So what are the latest buzz about Earth Hour 2009?

The Earth Hour is the first global vote for action on climate change.

  • There are around 1500 cities from around the world who committed to support Earth Hour.
  • 100 cities in the United States will turn their lights off. This includes NYC, LA, Las Vegas, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, Nashville and Miami just to name a few.
